Artist’s Statement

I am interested in recording nature and telling individual stories at the same time. Deeply influenced by 19th century naturalist painters I continue to find myself attracted to painting in a very present way. Every stage of crafting a painting is carefully considered. I hope each painting I create will be a vehicle for the viewer to connect with my subject and my subjects reality.

  1. “Tarnished,” is an astonishing painting. The reality of the pitcher, of the object itself, is palpable and deeply affecting.
